Social tagging has emerged over the past year as a major trend across a range of Web services, and academic libraries are beginning to explore the ways in which social tagging can be used to enhance the experience of their users. The article “Creating the academic library folksonomy” provides a good overview of social tagging as well as some ideas for jumping off points for academic libraries.
