How to Register
Advance Registration closed May 16, 2008. Registration is only available at the onsite rate. *must show proof of ALA membership Daily Fees Daily fees are charged onsite only, and allow an attendee to register for just one day of the meeting. Optional Events Requiring Additional Registration Details on event requiring additional registration, such as banquets and preconferences is available on a regular webpage, or in a PDF. Advanced registration by mail or fax is now closed. You can still registered online at the above link. Please note that NO PURCHASE ORDERS will be accepted as payment onsite. Non-Members: Join ALA and Save! Non-Members and Former Members of ALA are invited to join the association to receive both the member registration discount as well as ongoing benefits to your career and professional knowledge that comes from membership. First, go to the Membership page to join/re-join and start taking advantage of new and improved benefits like: AL Direct, our weekly email edition of American Libraries that keeps you on the cutting edge of news that affects all types of libraries; discounts on continuing education through Element K, our online skills building site; and your members-only discount on ALA Editions and Graphics products for you and your library. Then, come back here and register for Midwinter at a substantial savings. Exhibits Only, Exhibits Plus and Exhibits Supreme Registration An Exhibits Only badge is $25 and is good for all 4 days of the exhibits (Saturday-Tuesday) only. The Exhibits Plus badge is $35, and includes all four days of the exhibits, plus the Opening General Session. The Exhibits Supreme badge is $50, and includes the above, plus the ALA President's Program, Closing Session, and the Auditorium Speaker Series. Exhibit Only, Plus and Supreme badges will be available for advance registration, as well as for purchase on site. No refunds for Exhibits Only, Plus or Supreme registration. Learn more about the Exhibits. Confirmations ALA Registration office will e-mail or mail a registration confirmation to all registered attendees. If you do not receive a written confirmation within three weeks, please call ALA’s Customer Service Center at 800-545-2433 to verify your registration status. Badges If registration is received by the advance deadline, your badge will be mailed to you no later than two weeks before the conference. If you registered online after the advance deadline or your registration was faxed or postmarked after the deadline, you will need to pick up your badge at the Will Call/Corrections Counter at Registration in the Anaheim Convention Center. Refunds and Cancellations Substitutions are welcome at any time. Otherwise, registration cancellations must be made in writing and postmarked or faxed by the advance registration deadline. Cancellations will result in a full refund less a $25 processing fee. No phone cancellations will be accepted. No refunds for cancellations postmarked after the advance registrationd deadline. No Exhibits Only, Plus or Supreme refunds. Refunds will be processed after the Annual Conference. Children's Policy Strollers are permitted on the exhibit floor, but only if there is a child in them at all times. Unescorted children are not permitted on the exhibit floor. Children under the age of five must be restrained at all times (stroller, back pack, etc.). Any child over the age of five must have an exhibits only badge to be admitted to the exhibit floor. These badges are available at onsite registration for $25. An adult must accompany all children under the age of 16. Meal Policy Meals are not included with regular Conference registration. Some preconferences, workshops and banquets include meals as part of an additional ticket price. This information is included with the description of the event.
Registration Desk Hours Anaheim Convention Center Thursday-Friday: 7:30 am - 6:00 pm Saturday - Monday: 7:30 am - 5:00 pm Tuesday: 7:30 am - 12:00 pm Satellite Registration Satellite Registration will be available at the Hyatt Regency and Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel for pick-up of conference materials only. Changes, ticket purchases or new badges must be done at Main Registration in the Convention Center. Satellite Registration Hours: Thursday - Friday: 8:00 am - 8:00 pm Don't Forget Your ID! A Photo I.D. is now required to pick up your materials onsite. Please have a photo I.D. with you, or you will not be issued a program or badge holder.
