DESCRIPTION: The Emory University Libraries seeks a visionary and collaborative librarian to serve as Access Services Department Head. The Emory University Libraries are implementing an aggressive strategic plan to build a next-generation library with an infrastructure that supports new forms of pedagogy and new systems for the creation and dissemination of knowledge. The Access Services Department Head provides dynamic leadership, vision, planning, and assessment for the development of innovative services to facilitate access to materials needed for learning, teaching, and research.  S/he actively engages with other campus administration, information technology and library service areas to develop seamless user-centered services for the Emory community. The department head serves a central leadership role in collaborating with all Emory Libraries for university-wide access services initiatives in the areas of circulation, course reserves, materials booking, and interlibrary loan/document delivery. These services are currently delivered via shared library systems including Sirsi/Dynix Unicorn, ILLiad and ReservesDirect. The position will also play a major role in the review and possible implementation of a new integrated library management system.
