TIME: 2:00 - 4:30pm PLACE: Westin Canal Place, Ballroom On behalf of the Authority Control in the Online Environment Interest Group (ACIG), you are invited to attend our program titled "Who 'Owns' Authority Control?", on Sun. June 27, 1999 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Ballroom in the Westin Canal Place, New Orleans. Five speakers will fill the program, whose goal is to explore the impact of authority control for all library catalog users. This program will investigate authority control related issues from various user perspectives and needs. Speakers will discuss issues related to the incorporation of various types of bibliographic records into a local system, as well as aspects relating to indexing, cross-database searching of reference sources, authority control in a consortia environment, and a look into the future.
